Construction of 4th refinery will cost $10 bln to Kazakhstan
Astana. March 5. KazTAG - Construction of the 4th refinery 10 mln tons in capacity will cost approximately $10 bln to Kazakhstan, said Magzum Mirzagaliyev, Vice Minister of Energy.
"Our President has declared necessity to construct the fourth refinery. We have created a workgroup for this. There are a number of unsolved questions which the working group is supposed to answer. First of all, it is location of the plant, second- it's capacity, and approximate price. Third- it is sales markets of products of the new plant. Fourth, it is a very important question is , of course, price formation," he said.
"It is clear, according to the world statistics, the plants less than 10 mln tons in capacity are unprofitable. 10 mln tons plant will need 10 bln dollars of investments, of course we must calculate all the options for payback," he said.
