"The works on the energy block construction have been underway since 2014. The object had been conserved for some period of time, now it is shifting into an active phase, a foundation pit has been prepared, steel farms have been installed. Documents are being registered, construction terms will be defined. After introduction of the energy block the station’s capacity will increase by 636 mW. The total cost of construction is over 400 bn tenge," said Nikolay Tushinskiy, chairman of Station Ekibastuz GRES-2.
He said the equipment for the energy block N 3 is unique, it was made in China. Similar equipment is used only at Troitsk GRES.
