Cycling tourists from Ukraine beaten and robbed in Shymkent
Almaty. August 21. KazTAG - Vladimir Galiguzov, cycling tourist from Ukraine, has been beaten and robbed in Shymkent, reports Otyrar.
"Vladimir Galiguzov decided to travel around Asia by bicycle. The tourist had cycled through Crimea, Russia and Uzbekistan. He has ridden more than 4000 km. In early August he arrived to Shymkent where he was born and raised. At night when he was sleeping in his tent he was attacked by three men. The criminals bit him, broke his ribs, stole his bag and a big sum of money," said the report.
The man said they stole about $1000 and several thousand tenge.
"He had to stop his trip. He plans to resume it after rehabilitation," said the report.
He said he plans to go to Kyrgyzstan.
"Frankly speaking, it has happened for the first time in my life. I have been to many places, to taiga, in the caves under water. I have travelled a lot. It has happened for the first time in my life, they attacked to rob me," he said.
