Astana. December 27. KazTAG - A dike burst on the Syrdarya river in the Kyzylorda region, 60 hectares of farmlands have been flooded, reports Eurasia first channel.
"A dike burst on the Syrdarya river in the Kyzylorda region in Kazalinskiy district, 60 hectares of farmlands have been flooded. Houses and nearby territory may get under water," said the TV channel.
According to the local mass media sources, 150 rescuers and 40 items of technique are working on the scene. The administration of the district said the culprits have already been identified.
"Krymbek Yeleuovich, akim of the region, marked 21 dangerous territories in the region in 2017. Our district was not on the list. Probably the cause was rodents who made holes in the dike," said Galymzhan Yerkebay, deputy akim of Kazalinsk district.
