EAEU states preparing to unite their national plans for import substitution
Almaty. July 3. KazTAG - The states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are preparing to unite their national plans for import substitution, reports the press service of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).
“The EAEU industrialization map that we are developing now will allow us to organize comprehensive work on import substitution at the level of the union, to unify the national plans for import substitution, to build import-substituting production chains at the EAEU level, and effectively use each other’s competencies,” said Alexander Subbotin, Minister for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex (APC), at the first meeting of the high-level working group on integration and import substitution in priority industrial branches.
A high-level working group was established by order of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and includes deputy heads of the authorized bodies of EAEU member states.
“At the first meeting, they discussed the procedure for developing mechanisms for participation in import-substituting projects in the states of the union. The experts of the commission and the authorized bodies of the parties have considered the areas of support for import substitution in the member states. Seven such areas have already been agreed, ” reports the message.
