Egypt will increase fees of tourist visas since May 1
Almaty. April 24. KazTAG - Egypt will increase the fees of tourist visas since May 1, reports the ITAR-TASS news agency.
"Egyptwill increase the fees of tourist visas by $5 since May 1 (...) Now, people will pay 20$ instead of $15," reads the publication.
According to Hisham Zazu, Tourism Minister, the increase is not significant and will not affect tourists’ inflow.
Egyptian authorities had decaled about their intention to increase visa fees since November 1 to $25 "in order to unify the system of visas registration in the Egyptian consulates abroad and at the border".
"Anyway our visas will be one of the cheapest in the world," said Zazu.
In the first two months 2014 the number of foreign tourists visiting Egyptdecreased by 28%- to 1.3 mln people year on year. On May holidays the country expects inflow of tourists first of all from Russia.
