Emergency situation announced in Taraz following wagons derailment carrying sulphuric acid

Almaty. February 20. KazTAG - Emergency situation was announced in Taraz following wagons derailment with sulphuric acid, said Saule Munatayeva, spokeswoman of the department of emergency situations of Zhambyl region.
"An emergency situation of local scale was announced today by the akim of Taraz in connection with the accident at the railway, following derailment of 7 tank wagons with sulphuric acid, three wagons fell on the side. In the result of the accident insignificant leak of sulphuric acid occurred," said Munatayeva.
The train was on the way from Russia , from Zhambyl station towards the plant of mineral fertilizers "Kazphosphat". The train was carrying 44 wagons, 15 of them contained sulhpuric acid.
"As of 08.00 emergency restoration works are underway. A group for consequences liquidation has been created," said Munatayeva.
