Environmentalists from different state opposed about transfer of sister of Amur tiger in Almaty zoo

Astana. January 29. KazTAG - Environmentalists from Canada, the US, and South Korea are against transfer of female tiger Taiga- sister of Tiger Amur, well known for his friendship with goat Timur- from the Primorsky safari park, where she lived for several years, to the Almaty zoo.
"Tigress Taiga is included in the program of the Eurasian Association of Zoos on the conservation and reproduction of the Amur tiger, under which it is supposed to move from Primorye to Kazakhstan - to the Almaty Zoological Park, the decision was taken by coordinator," reads the message of Primorye safari-park.
Animal defenders from Canada, the United States and South Korea are  against relocation of Taiga tigress to the Almaty zoo.
“As for the transfer of Taiga tigress to the Almaty zoo, this zoo has already been the center of scandal involving  cruel treatment of animals, as a result of which a tigress died - it rotted alive! Sending Taiga there is unacceptable! We hope that this rash decision of the coordinator can be canceled due to these circumstances, ” said animal defenders in a letter addressed to the governor of Primorsky Krai, posted on the safari park website.
Environmentalists have asked to leave the tigress in the Primorsky safari park for permanent residence. “The Amur tigers are the property of all mankind, and we are ready to do everything that we can to prevent violence of Taiga, which can lead to her death,” reads the letter.
If the issue is not resolved positively, the environmentalists  are going to "to appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin, international organizations for protection of animal rights and to international mass media."
