EU asking community states to mobilize 5000 doctors to combat the Ebola virus in Africa
Almaty. November 27. KazTAG - The European Union is asking the community states to mobilize 5000 doctors to combat the Ebola virus in Africa, reports the TASS news agency.
EU coordinator on combating the virus spread, Christos Stilianidis, and Vetinis Andriukaitis, European commissioner for health care, has called the EU states to mobilize at least 5000 doctors and several thousand of people from medical personnel to combat further spread of fever in Western Africa, reports France Press with a reference to sources in the European Commission.
By the results of the visit to Sierra-Leone, Liberia and Guinea Stilianidis and Andriukaitis declared "about necessity of rapid response" to prevent further spread of the disease. The European Commission has allocated 138 mln euro to support the states of Western Africa.
