Astana. November 29. KazTAG - 14 Kazakhstani children evacuated from the prison of Iraq have returned to Kazakhstan without their mothers, said Raisa Sher, advisor to the Minister of Education and Science on protection of children's rights.
"As distinct from the Syrian children, these children arrived without their mothers," she said.
She said their relatives met them in the airport.
"We managed to evacuate all Kazakhstani children from the Iraqi prison and orphans' house, including one full orphan. Out of 14 children, 12 are the members of four families. There are eight girls and eight boys, the eldest boy is aged 13, the youngest girl is below two," said Stanislav Vasilenko, ambassador at large.
He added that only two children are the citizens of Kazakhstan, while all the convicted mothers are the citizens of Kazakhstan.
