"Deputy akim of the Atyrau region Nursaule Sailauova was detained in the evening of March 18 by the representatives of the department of national bureau for corruption combat. She was taken to pretrial detention facility," reads the message.
Sailauova who was responsible for the social block and resigned on her own wish, is suspected of embezzlement and bribe taking.
"She is charged taking 5 mln tenge bribe," reads the message.
Detention of Sailauova might be connected with the criminal case opened in late 2019 in respect of Kairgali Kenzhegaliyev, head of education department of the Atyrau region, and his deputy Roza Kabdulova, his deputy, on suspicion of taking 10 mln tenge bribe.
