Female becomes President of Croatia for the first time in history
Almaty. January 12. KazTAG - Female has become a President of Croatia for the first time in history. Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovich has won the second tour of the Presidential elections promising people to make the state "one of the most prospering in the EU", reports the TASS news agency.
"When I entered this race many people told me: "What is the object of doing that for you? You will lose. But I don't give up. And this way I will work for the benefit of Croatia," said 46 years old Grabar Kitarovich.
She added "work is waiting for us not tomorrow, but already today".
"Since today we will start working for the benefit of our motherland," she said.
Her electoral campaign was mainly based on the issues of economy focusing on the measures of strengthening of energy security, struggle with unemployment and prevention of youth outflow abroad.
