First measles case fixed in West Kazakhstan region over past several years

Uralsk. February 11. KazTAG - A criminal case has been fixed in the West Kazakhstan region for the first time over the past three years.
"The patient, born in 1980, came from Astana at the end of January. She applied to medical institution with high temperature up to 39.5 degrees, cough, and pain in throat. Rash appeared on her face, body, arms and legs after three days. She has been sent to infection hospital where she was diagnosed measles," said the health care department.
According to the department no measles cases were fixed in the region in 2016-2018 adding that the region has sufficient volume of vaccines.
As it was reported, 1636 measles cases have been fixed in Kazakhstan since January, including children aged under 14- 1200 (73.3%).
