Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and China discussed situation of ethnic Kazakhs
Astana. March 29. KazTAG - Beibut Atamkulov, foreign minister of Kazakhstan, has discussed the situation of ethnic Kazakhs residing in China with Wang Yi, foreign minister of China.
"The parties discussed the situation with the ethnic Kazakhs residing in China. They emphasized mutual interest in resolution of the issues through working contracts between the Foreign Ministries of two states and agreed to enhance activity of the consular services," reads the message.
Atamkulov had said that over a thousand of Kazakh people staying in the Chinese prisons applied to the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.
"Our ministry has received over one thousand of statements from people kept in the correctional institutions of China. We are working on these applications personally, checking their conditions. We are working personally with each of them," he said.
