Almaty. January 8. KazTAG - The Foreign Ministry of Armenia has called society not to succumb to the temptation of populism and provocations after the murder at the restaurant Ancient Rome in Karaganda.
As it was reported the New Year banquet at Ancient Rome restaurant ended with mass brawl and stabbing between two groups of men, leaving one fatality.
“From the very beginning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Embassy of Armenia to Kazakhstan have been in constant contact with the authorities of Kazakhstan and authorized structures. These direct contacts between the departments of Armenia and Kazakhstan continue. Both sides proceed from a unified position: this is a criminal incident on a domestic background and it is necessary to strictly exclude attempts to give it an inter-ethnic tint, ”said Shavarsh Kocharyan, deputy head of the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
In his words, the Kazakh side provided all the assurances that appropriate measures would be taken to establish control over the situation and exclude such manifestations. It is also reported that the Embassy of Armenia to Kazakhstan also maintains round-the-clock communication with leaders of community structures.
“Understanding the concern over the current situation, we urge advisors and specialists to take the most responsible attitude in their statements,  to this extremely sensitive issue, and not to succumb to the temptation of populism and provocations. This is a hypersensitive question, and any attempts to give it an international tone are convicting and unacceptable," he concluded.
