Former President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev arrived to Bishkek and taken to the State Committee for National Security

Almaty. August 3. KazTAG - Former President of Kyrgyzstan Askar Akayev, who left the country after the Tulip Revolution in 2005, aarrived to Bishkek and was taken to the State Committee for National Security  of Kyrgyzstan, Kaktus.Media reported.
“On August 2, former President Askar Akayev flew to Bishkek to cooperate with the investigation in the Kumtor case. Law enforcement officers met him at the airport and immediately took him to the State Committee for National Security for investigative measures, ” said the report.
Akayev is one of the defendants in the Kumtor criminal case. He has not been to Kyrgyzstan since he fled the country in 2005.
