French businessmen invested 12 bn euro in economy of Kazakhstan since 2008

Almaty. January 21. KazTAG - The French businessmen have invested 12 bn euro in the economy of Kazakhstan since 2008, reports the Ministry for Affairs of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Minister of State attached to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, hosted a meeting with Mr Bakhyt Sultanov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Trade and Integration. The ministers talked about our traditional areas of cooperation (aeronautics, space, rail transport) and reviewed progress on new priority economic sectors in our relationship (agrifood, digital technology, renewable energy).
"With €12 billion of investment from French businesses, Kazakhstan is France’s leading economic and trade partner in Central Asia. Kazakhstan concluded a strategic partnership with France which was signed on 11 June 2008," said the report.
The Minister of State indicated France’s desire for a deepening of cooperation between our two countries based on the successes already seen, particularly in the high-tech industry.
