Frontier guard killed in shooting at Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border

Almaty. September 17. KazTAG - A frontier guard has been killed in the shooting at the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, reports the Kyrgyzstan Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG).
"A border incident with application of weapons occurred at the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on September 16. Tajik side was the first to apply weapons shooting into Maksat Kyrgyz border post, then in the temporary checkpoint Sai in Batkensk region. According to preliminary data, one frontier guard of the state border service of Kyrgyzstan was killed. The shooting ended at 21.30," said the report.
The incident started after the citizens of Tajikistan started construction works at the undocumented area of the state border, in return, a citizen of Kyrgyzstan started constructing a fence on the territory of his house located in this area, later at the meeting of frontier guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan it was decided to stop the construction works by both parties.
"Despite the agreements, the citizens of Tajikistan continued their works. The citizen of Kyrgyzstan, in return, continued his works either. At about 19.30 Tajikistan soldiers aggressive requested the citizen of Kyrgyzstan to stop the construction which grew into a brawl and shooting," said the message.
