Gasmain may be constructed from Shymkent to India - MFA

Astana. April 29. KazTAG - A joint working group will be crated in Kazakhstan to learn the prospects of gasmain construction from Shymkent to the border of India, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The proposal of Indian side concerning creation of a joint working group to learn the prospects of gasmain construction from Shymkent to the border of India received positive response in Kazakhstan," reports the message published by the results of the session of Kazakhstani-Indian intergovernmental commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation in Astana.

The parties agreed to consider expansion of cooperation in terms of exploration and production of minerals in Kazakhstan.

Indiaproposed to consider interaction in the field of renewable energy sources and peaceful use of atomic energy.

Indiais also interested in the Eurasian project for development of oil and gas field in the Caspian Sea.   ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL) expressed interest in participation in this project. Currently OVL and KazMunayGas are preparing to commence drilling works at the Satpayev block.
