Government members claim resignation of Kabul mayor in Afghanistan
Almaty. May 5. KazTAG - The members of Afghanistan Government claimed resignation of Kabul mayor Mokhammad Yunas Navandesh accusing him of negligence and corruption, reports the Afghanistan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG).
"Many representatives of the lower chamber of the Parliament called to dismiss the mayor of the capital Mokhammad Yunas Navandesh accusing him of negligence and corruption. The members of the Parliament said their claims were based on growing complaints of the city dwellers concerning the corruption, in addition Navandesh is not able to perform any new projects," reads the message.
They also accused him of contracts abuse on the city construction.
Navandesh in his turn declared that he cannot be dismissed without court's decision and said the accusations is a revenge of Parliament members for his refusal to support construction projects initiated by them.
