Great Britain empowers protocol of agreement on zone free from nuclear weapons in CA
Tashkent. March 4. KazTAG - A protocol on security guarantees to the agreement on a zone free from nuclear weapons in Central Asia has been empowered in Great Britain, reports the British embassy to Uzbekistan.
"The protocol ratification confirms adherence of Great Britain to the principles and aims of creation of zones free from nuclear weapons, and also our acknowledgement that guarantees of non application of nuclear weapons play a big role in prevention of spread of nuclear destruction weapons and strengthening of regional and international security," said George Edgar ambassador of Great Britain to Uzbekistan.
The agreement was signed on September 8 2006 in Semipalatinsk by the representatives of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan and came into force in March 2009.
