Green city plan developed in Almaty

Almaty. September 25. KazTAG - A green city plan is being developed in Almaty, said Agris Preimanis, director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for Kazakhstan.
“We are starting to develop a new plan in Almaty with the approach we use in more than 50 countries around the world. We are creating a systematic plan for the green city development: on transport, energy and other issues, ”said Preimanis, speaking at the Kazakhstan Growth Forum conference.
In his words, the plan outlines the general development and specifically spelt out, in joint work with the administration of Almaty, for the attraction of new investments, new companies.
“In principle, the approach here is similar (to the global one - KazTAG) - the idea is to create an ecosystem at the city level and at the level of some sectors: changes are brought in legislation, some investments are attracted from the state, akimat, in order to create development opportunities for specific private companies," he added.
