Growth of Internet crimes doubled in three years - Ministry of Internal Affairs

Astana. October 26. KazTAG - The growth of Internet crimes has doubled over the past three years, said Yerlan Omarbekov, deputy head of the criminal police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
“Over the past three years, there has been an increase in such (Internet - KazTAG) crimes almost twofold, from 4 thousand to 8 thousand crimes. This year, the internal affairs bodies have discovered 1700 crimes, about  400 people were detained," he said.
According to him, the most common scam scheme is the placement of advertisements for the sale of goods or provision of services on Internet platforms.
"This way the fraudsters, as a rule, attract their victims by the low cost of the offered goods,” he said.
