Human rights issues under close attention - Tokayev
Almaty. April 3. KazTAG - President of Kazakhstan Kassym- Jomart Tokayev received Askar Shakirov, ombudsman of Kazakhstan, reports Akorda.
Tokayev has been presented a report on the activity of the ombudsman and information on the observance of human rights in Kazakhstan.
"Tokayev pointed out the need of joint work with authorized government agencies to ensure the basic rights and interests of socially vulnerable groups of the population, including poor families and mothers of large families, as well as to prevent the facts of cruel treatment of prisoners," reads the message.
The President of Kazakhstan gave a number of specific instructions and stressed that human rights issues would be in the area of his close attention.
