Hundreds of followers of Serikzhan Bilash came to support Kazakh activist in court in Nur-Sultan
Astana. July 29. KazTAG - Hundreds of followers of Atazhurt eriktileri movement Serikzhan Bilash have come to support the Kazakh activist in the Almaty district court N2 in Nur-Sultan.
The supporters were chanting "Give freedom" near the court's building when they got to know that the case was transferred to Almaty.
Many of them are ethic Kazakhs who returned from China, there were so many people that some of them were led to the free courts rooms and some stayed outside.
The preliminary hearing of the case of Atazhurt erikteleri started in the Almaty District Court N2 in Nur-Sultan. Bilash is charged under part 1 of Article 174 (excitement of social, national, tribal, racial, class or religious hatred) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Hearings are held in open mode.
Lawyer Umarova petitioned for consideration of the case in Almaty, she asked the court to allow changing the address of Bilash under house arrest, due to the unsatisfactory conditions of his residence at the current place, and also called for the trial of the activist to be terminated due to the lack of corpus delicti. The prosecutor approved the petition for transferring the case to Almaty. The court changed the place of Bilash's house arrest at his place of permanent residence in Almaty.
