Idrisov proposed to use CICMA more effectively in combat with terrorism in CA and Afghanistan
Astana. October 21. KazTAG - Yerlan Idrisov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, has conducted negotiations with special representative of UN secretary general, head of UN regional center on preventive diplomacy for Central Asia Miroslav Yencha, MFA reports.
"The Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan positively estimated activity of the regional center for combating trans-border criminality including terrorism, extremism and illegal drugs trafficking and also monitoring of situation development in Afghanistan. He proposed to use the potential of CICMA wider within the frameworks of the working groups under UN aegis for combating terrorism in Central Asia and Afghanistan," reads the message posted on the MFA site.
He also proposed to attract CICMA in the project "New Silk Way".
"We believe that CICMA involvement in the project "New Silk Way" is possible as the absolute majority of Central Asian states are the members of this forum," he added.
