Ilyin about floods situation: We keep situation at Shardarinskoye reservoir under special control

Astana. April 25. KazTAG - We keep the situation at the Shardarinskoye reservoir under special control, said Yuriy Ilyin, deputy minister of interior affairs of Kazakhstan.
"Jointly with Kazvodkhoz we keep the situation at the Shardarinskoye reservoir on the territory of the Turkestan region under special control due to intensive precipitations in neighboring Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Shardarinskoye reservoir is 100% full. Since this morning there has been active discharge of water along the Syrdarya River and since 12.00 with our colleagues from Kazvodkhoz and from the adjacent territory of Uzbekistan we will discharge water into the Arnasay lowland in order to reduce the load associated with the operation of the small hydroelectric complex and reduce the costs for the Syrdarya river ", said Yuri Ilyin at a press conference on the results of the flood period in Kazakhstan.
In his words, in general the flood situation in most of Kazakhstan’s territory this year has been “more or less safe.”
"This is due to the implementation of the roadmap, which should be completed in 2020, and this is preventive work - directly by the local executive bodies during the flood period," he added.
Up to date not a single akimat requested funds from the republican budget.
