Import of large consignment of narcotic drugs suppressed in Almaty

Almaty. August 12. KazTAG - Import of a large consignment of narcotic drugs was suppressed in Almaty, reports the press service of the State Revenue Committee of Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.
“Criminals attempted to smuggle drugs in the containers for baby food. The total weight of the seized drugs was about 24 kilograms. All the packages were found in international parcels. Both last year and this year, they mainly tried to import narcotic drugs from the USA, Canada and the Netherlands. In fact,  69.6% of the detained drugs were imported from the USA,” it was reported.
Over the past seven months of this year, 23 facts of detention were revealed, including  16 facts of "marijuana" trafficking, two facts "hashish" trafficking, one fact of  "MDMA (ecstasy) and cocaine trafficking".
