Almaty. February 19. KazTAG - The International Olympic Committee will allocate $880 mln to the capital of winter Olympic Games 2022, said Alexander Zhukov, chairman of evaluation committee IOC.
"IOC will allocate $880 mln to the hosting city of the winter Olympic Games-2022 to hold the games on a duly level," he said.
He added Almaty has all the chances to host the Olympic Games.
"The city is chosen on the base of several factors. This decision won't be taken by evaluation committee. Our role is to evaluate each bid. Almaty may successfully host the winter Olympic Games-2022," he said.
In his words, if Almaty gets the right to host the games, ski competitions will be transferred from Shymbulak to Almatau.
"The committee proposed to move the competitions from Shymbulak to Almatay due to technical reasons as the international ski federation said that Shymbulak is not an appropriate place for such competitions," he said.
