Iran began construction of a large gas storage

Almaty. June 20. KazTAG - The province of Isfahan in central Iran launched a large-scale national project for the construction of underground gas storage, the Iranian News Agency (IrTAG) www.irtag.info.
"This project will be implemented in three phases and should be completed within the next two years," - says the publication on Friday.
According to the director of natural gas storage Iran Masoud Samivanda, all preliminary studies have been completed. On-site construction begins with installation of equipment and drilling.
Thus, the capacity of gas storage in salt dome Nasrabad in Isfahan province will be from 3 to 4 billion cubic meters. The project will drill 30 wells up to 450 m. Upon completion, gas storage could be extracted up to 40 million cubic meters of gas per day.
M. Samivand added that this project in the future will allow to build gas treatment plant and a petrochemical industrial park near the city of Kashan, which is located 45 kilometers southeast of the salt dome Nasrabad.
According to the draft, the future gas storage will occupy an area of ​​125 square meters.
