Astana. December 10. KazTAG - Issuance of 4G licenses to Kazakhstani cellular operators controlled by Swedish telecommunication holdings TeliaSonera (Kcell) and Tele2 may boost investments inflow in the branch, said Christian Kamill, ambassador of Sweden to Kazakhstan.
"Presence of Swedish companies in Kazakhstan is obvious today. Telecommunications, is probably the branch, where Swedish companies are the most active today. Such companies as Ericsson, TeliaSonera and Tele2 are well known which have defined the new directions for cooperation in this field. 4G licensing to these new operators might lead to higher investments and development of informational communication technologies in Kazakhstan," he said to the journalists after credentials presentation ceremony.
He reminded Swedish companies worked in Kazakhstan 100 years ago.
He also reminded that Kazakhstan and Sweden pretend for non permanent membership in the UN Security Council in 2017-2018.
"If both candidatures are approved, Sweden and Kazakhstan will become partners in the council," he said.
