Astana. November 16. KazTAG – It is planned to create a new city of Alatau in Kazakhstan.
“In accordance with Article 9 of Kazakhstan dated December 8, 1993 “On the administrative-territorial structure of Kazakhstan,” I decide to classify the village of Zhetygen in the Ili district of the Almaty region as a city of regional significance,” reads the draft resolution of Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov.
It is planned to give the city a name - Alatau.
The government is going to submit for consideration by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev a draft presidential decree “On changes in the administrative-territorial structure of the Almaty region.”
Zhetygen is a village in the Ili district of Almaty region, the center of the Zhetygen rural district, as well as a railway station.
The discussion on the Open Legal Entities website will last until November 29.
