Judge in Bishimbayev case did not consider challenge filed against her - Supreme Court

Astana.  April 11. KazTAG - Judge Aizhan Kulbaeva, who has been presiding over the trial in the case of ex-Minister of National Economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev, accused in the case of the brutal murder of Saltanat Nukenova, did not consider the challenge filed against her, reports the press service of the Supreme Court.
“During today’s court hearing on Bishimbayev case, the defense challenged the presiding judge Aizhan Kulbaeva. In accordance with regulation of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the challenge was considered by the judge of the same court, S. Tasymbetov, without the participation of jurors and judge Kulbayeva. Based on the results of consideration of the challenge, by a court decision, the challenge of the judge, filed by the defense, was rejected. The case was resumed. This decision is not subject to appeal or protest,” the statement said on Thursday.
Bishimbayev's lawyer challenged the judge after she made a remark about him that he was misleading the court participants.
