Astana. April 8. KazTAG - Kazakhstan and the OSCE have confirmed their readiness to continue development of interaction.
"My meeting with dear colleague (Beibut Atamkulov, foreign minister of Kazakhstan-KazTAG) and the meeting with president Tokayev was dedicated to our readiness to develop our cooperation in compliance with the priorities of Kazakhstan, the reform developed by the Government of Kazakhstan, including in the field of reform of peace and justice," said Miroslav Lajčák, OSCE chairperson-in-office , during his visit to Astana.
He said "Kazakhstan successfully chaired the OSCE in 2010".
"The meeting held in Astana in those days is still the only meeting on the high level within the frameworks of OSCE in the XXI century. The documents which were signed those days have not lost their significance," he said.
He added that OSCE supports the active and constructive role that Kazakhstan plays in Central Asia.
"We are glad to see the new positive dynamics of regional cooperation in many directions: combat with terrorism, environment protection, internal regional security, economic cooperation, issues connected with Afghanistan. Last year we marked 20 years of OSCE presence in Kazakhstan. Our programs office in Nur-Sultan is a partner and friend of the Government of Kazakhstan, it develops a number of activities on all the directions," he said.
