Kazakhstan asks Russia to tighten control over locusts at border

Astana. June 19. KazTAG – Kazakhstan asks Russia to tighten control over the spread of locust pests on the border.
“The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan sent a letter to the Russian Federation asking to tighten control over the spread of locust pests in the border area,” reports the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture.
This is done to prevent a decrease in the effectiveness of the ongoing locust protection.
At the same time, there is an agreement to strengthen measures on the Russian side.
On June 18, in the Aktobe region, an infestation of locust pests from the Orenburg region was recorded.
An operational meeting is expected with the participation of the Vice-Governor of the Orenburg Region and Vice-Minister Ermek Kenzhekhanuly.
