Kazakhstan deploys first female soldier to peacekeeping mission
Astana. December 26. KazTAG - Sholpan Tausheva, female soldier, has been deployed in the peacekeeping mission of Kazakhstan, reports the Ministry of Defence.
"Kazakhstani female soldier has arrived to Western Sahara with a peacekeeping mission. She is the first woman in the history of armed forces of Kazakhstan performing the peacekeeping mission," reads the message.
Together with soldiers from 30 states Sh. Tausheva will be involved in the peacekeeping mission in the Western Sahara as a military observer.
"The candidates were selected on a voluntary base among the military servants in the armed forces of Kazakhstan, serving under a contract and getting military and special peacekeeping training," reads the message.
