Kazakhstan is going to defend Poltoranin until his fault is proved
Astana. February 28. KazTAG - The National Federation of Ski Races of Kazakhstan is going to defend Alexey Poltoranin until his fault is proved, reports the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.
"If we find out that he was really taking doping, the federation will make a statement. We have zero tolerance to doping. We are strongly against unfair methods, any attempts of using prohibited substances. Until it is proved that Poltoranin violated the anti-doping rules, until the federation gets the notifications from WADA, IOC,FIS that he has been officially charged, we will defend our athlete," said Samal Nauryzova, spokesperson of NFSR.
As it was reported, the law enforcement bodies of Austria and prosecutor's office of Germany conducted a joint operation against an international doping network within which they conducted seven searches at the location of several national teams at the ski sports championship in Seefeld and detained two athletes of the national team of Austria, one athlete of the national team of Kazakhstan and two athletes from Estonia.
