Kazakhstan may impose ban on petrol import from Russia until the end of week

Almaty. June 21. KazTAG - Kazakhstan may impose ban on petrol import from Russia by railway transport for 3 months, said Kanat Bozumbayev, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan.
"There is a project of conventional ban on petrol import from the neighboring state. It will be imposed for  3 months by rail transport. Why we plan this conventional  ban - because some border regions, for instance Kostanay region can deliver it by moto transport. It is economically beneficial and there will be competition to control the process," he said.
He said introduction of ban is connected with overstocking of domestic market with domestic fuel.
"We are going to sign this order. It is being coordinated in the state bodies. Until the end of the week we hope it will be approved," he added.
