Kazakhstan may lose alcohol industry unless protective measures in ads field are taken - deputy

Astana. January 14. KazTAG - Azat Peruashev, Majilis deputy, believes that Kazakhstan may lose its alcohol industry unless protective measures in the ads field are taken.
"The new amendments in the law "On advertisement" came into force since January 1 2015 in Russia, they allow ads of alcohol (beer and wine) in mass media and on TV channels, but I am asking to pay attention on the fact- the products made only in Russia. I think taking in account the previous negative experience, there is no need to explain how this permit will affect the Kazakhstani market in the near future, and also the positions of Kazakhstani products on the uniform market of the Eurasian Economic Union. In other words, the question is in survival or loss of a whole branch of the national economy," said Peruashev addressing to Prime Minister Karim Massimov.
"It is clear that broadcasting of the Russian channels on the territory of Kazakhstan is regulated by Kazakhstani legislation. But if signals come via a satellite, in the border regions, and also in the time of spread of printed media in Kazakhstan issued in Russia, this regulation doesn't work," he said.
In his opinion, the innovation "violates the interests of Kazakhstani manufacturers" on the uniform market of the Eurasian economic union and the principles of equal competition on the territory of Russia.
