Kazakhstan ratified agreement on Free Trade zone

 

Astana. October25. KazTAG– PresidentofKazakhstanhassignedanagreement“OnratificationoftheFreeTradezone”, asthepress-serviceofthePresidentinforms.

“The text is being published in press,” Ak Orda states.

As reported earlier, the terms of the agreement determine tax free trade for almost all goods. Thus, there will be taxes on white sugar and vodka imported from Ukraine. Besides, the agreement will support Kazakhstan’s right to use export duties on certain kinds of goods, including petroleum products, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, rapeseed and sunflower, natural gas and other gases.

The agreement signed in Saint-Petersburg on October 18, 2011 is aimed at completion of introduction of the Free Trade, which is considered a priority concept of future development of the CIS.

As noted, the document is aimed at improvement of the legal framework of interstate trade relations based on the principles of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
