Kazakhstan reduced import of confectionary goods from Ukraine in January-May by 26.3%

Astana. July 10. KazTAG - Kazakhstan lowered import of confectionary goods from sugar which do not consist cacao including white chocolate from Ukraine in January-May 2014 to 1896.2 tons to $4.2 mln, 26.3% down in quantity and 18.1% down in cost year on year, reports the customs control committee of the Ministry of Finance.

According to the reported data, without accounting the Customs Union's states Kazakhstan lowered import of confectionary products in January-May 2014 to 4064.4 tons ($8.5 mln), 17.8% down in quantity and 10.2% down in cost in comparison to 5 months 2013.

The largest suppliers of confectionery products in Kazakhstan, in addition to Ukraine, were Turkey - 1466.3 tons (+2.6%) to $ 1.9 million (12.2%), Uzbekistan - 178.4 tons (-35.4% ) to $ 383.3 million (-34.6%), Germany - 174.5 tons (-35.1%) to $ 495.1 million (-19.8%), China - 71.9 tons (+ 3.1%) to $ 388.8 million (+57.1%), the Netherlands - 44.6 tons (11 times more than in the same period last year) to $ 104.6 million (489.9% ).
