Kazakhstan reduced oil shipment by 2.5 times to China via Atasu-Alashankou in 2014
Almaty. January 30. KazTAG - Kazakhstan has reduced oil shipment to China via Atasu-Alashankou pipeline by 2.5 times to 4.8 mln tons in 2014 due to technical swap with Russian transit oil, reports nefttrans.ru.
Oil shipment to China from Kazakhstan has changed in structure since January 2014 following renewal of Russian oil transit: Kazakhstan gained the right to conduct technical substitution of crude products, as a result Russian oil flows to Pavlodar refinery, while analogue volumes of Kazakhstani oil flows to Russian exporters at the border leg of Kazakhstan and China- Alashankou
Pavlodar refinery received 4.9 mln tons of Russian oil from transit flow, while Kazakhstani companies shipped similar volume to China via Atasu-Alashankou pipeline.
