Kazakhstan resumed sending dark oil products to Europe at Batumi oil terminal

Almaty. April 4. KazTAG – Loading of dark oil products produced by oil refineries in Kazakhstan has been resumed at the Batumi oil terminal, reports KazTransOil JSC.
“Batumi Oil Terminal has resumed loading dark oil products produced at Kazakh oil refineries onto Aframax tankers in batches of 60-80 thousand tons. The cargo is then sent to European countries,” the company said in a statement on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange.
Tankers of this type have become a means of transporting dark oil products from Kazakhstan to Europe, starting in March 2024.
Large-scale shipments of fuel oil and vacuum gasoil have been suspended since October 2018. However, using Aframax allows you to optimize delivery costs.
Since 2017, KazTransOil JSC has owned a 100% stake in Batumi Oil Terminal LLC, through which the direct ownership and management of production assets in Georgia is carried out. Batumi Oil Terminal LLC has exclusive rights to manage a 100% stake in Batumi Sea Port LLC, owned by Georgia.
