Kazakhstan will produce shale gas - Massimov
Astana. November 27. KazTAG - Kazakhstan will develop projects on shale gas production, said Karim Massimov, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
"We believe that production of energy sources will be growing in our country. We hope to enter top 10 main producers of energy resources, including on natural gas production. We also plan to develop projects of shale gas production," he said at the international conference on energy charter.
"This direction let us overcome the problems we faced after collapse of the Soviet Union and become one of the most economically sustainable states," he added.
In his words the Government not only aspires to provide significant achievements but also "to use the available resources".
"Economic growth boosts demand for energy sources. We believe we should search for new renewable energy sources in the future years. None of the states can solve this problem independently. We must respond the challenges collectively," he said.
In his opinion Kazakhstan takes an important place in the existing energy chains.
