Kazakhstani commercial banks will start giving credits in tenge in the near future - Kelimbetov
Astana. February 12. KazTAG - Kazakhstani second tier banks will start giving credits in tenge in the near future, said Kairat Kelimbetov, chairman of the National Bank.
"We will provide funds to the second tier banks for the period of short-term deficit. I think in the near future they will start crediting in tenge," he said
In his opinion, people should calm down and proceed to "balanced, business turnover as it was in the previous years”.
"It is natural response of banks as they thought there would be one moment devaluation, thus they insured their currency risks providing currency credits, from another hand due to lack of tenge liquidity," he said.
