Kazakhstani-Turkish lyceums to be checked for ties with Gulen's movement - Nazarbayev
Almaty. August 8. KazTAG - President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has promised to check the educational institutions in the state for the ties with the Islamic oppositionist Fettulah Gulen, reports the TASS with a reference to the statement at the press-conference in Ankara.
"All the schools in Kazakhstan are controlled by the state. 90% of teachers are the citizens of Kazakhstan, they are financed from the regional budgets. We will not support anyone who works against Turkey. We will check all these schools, for this we will create the work groups of specialists of our Ministries of Education," he said.
"If we reveal that the teachers arriving from Turkey have the ties (with Gulen-KazTAG), they will be deported, we will request new teachers to their places. We opened these schools in the time of Turgut Ozal (President of Turkey in 1989-1993-KazTAG). If there are enemies of Turkey among them we will take measures and solve the problem. We will answer all the requests of Turkey in this issue," he added.
He said these schools "give very high level of education" and several thousands of their graduates won the international Olympic Games.
Erdogan, in turn, reminded that "there are 33 schools in Kazakhstan connected with "terror organization of Fettulahists (FETO) Gulen”.
