Kazakhtelecom will purchase the remaining 49% of share in Tele2

Almaty May 23. KazTAG - Kazakhtelecom JSC will purchase the remaining 49% of the share of mobile operator Tele2 AB in the joint venture Khan Tengri Holding B.V., reported the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange website (KASE).
“Today, Kazakhtelecom and Tele2 AB have signed an agreement to acquire a 49% stake in the Swedish mobile operator. It is expected that the transaction will be completed by the end of June,”- said in a statement posted on the website on Thursday.
Kazakhtelecom also stated that the company, as the main shareholder of both mobile operators, is ready to facilitate the joint launch of 5G in Kazakhstan.
According to the results of the first quarter of 2019, the number of subscribers of the joint venture significantly exceeded 7 million people.
