Kazhydromet declares no excess of air pollutants in Almaty

Almaty. May 17. KazTAG - No excess of air pollutants has been registered in Almaty, reports Kazhydromet.
"Kazhydromet conducted extraordinary sampling of atmospheric air at the border of the sanitary protection zone of the solid waste landfill of the village of Aitey in Karasaisk district at a distance of 3000 m and closely located districts to the landfill in Almaty . (...) In the air samples, the maximum permissible concentrations  of pollutants were not exceeded," reads the message.
For the period from 8:00 am May 16 to 8:00 am May 17, 16 posts for monitoring the state of atmospheric air in Almaty, of which 11 are automatic and five are hand-operated  tested nitrogen dioxide , nitrous oxide, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide and  registered excess of nitrogen dioxide in 1 case in the range of 1.3 maximum allowable level in the area of PNZ No. 12 (Rayymbek Avenue, corner of the street Nauryzbay Batyr) at 13.00 on 16 May.
“For the remaining parameters, the excess has not been fixed,” reads the report.
