Korean companies monitor construction of Astana-Almaty highway

Astana. June 24. KazTAG — Korean companies are monitoring the quality of road construction between Astana and Almaty, reports the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
“Korean companies Dongsung Engineering and ISAN Corporation are monitoring the quality of road construction between Almaty and Astana. The company’s engineers conduct technical supervision, are constantly on site and monitor the quality of the work,” the statement said.
As noted by the Committee on Highways of the Ministry of Transport, some sections will begin to be put into operation in mid-summer.
The road consists of four main sections: Karaganda-Balkhash, Balkhash-Burylbaital, Burylbaital-Kurty and a detour to Shamalgan station. The total length of all sections is 946 km.
It was previously reported that the construction of the Astana-Almaty highway is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
