KPO ISSUES 2013 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
Aksai, June 27, 2014 KazTAG - Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) has announced the publication of the 2013 Sustainability Report.
This is the sixth Report on sustainability development in Karachaganak that has been issued by KPO since 2008. The Report demonstrates KPO’s commitment to sustainable development whilst adhering to the international standards and world best practice.
KPO General Director, Damiano Ratti, said: “The success of Karachaganak has become possible thanks to strong collaborative partnerships between the Republic of Kazakhstan, local community and Karachaganak Partners. We believe that engagement with our various stakeholders through transparent and balanced reporting is critical to the success of our business.”
“In this issue we have focused on key issues including human rights, ethics and compliance, health, safety and security of our employees, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, waste management, water use, biodiversity, energy management, personnel development and training, nationalization, local content, supporting development of local communities, contribution to local economy”, said Damiano Ratti.
The Sustainability Report 2013 has been produced in accordance with the ‘Core’ option of the new Guidelines 4 of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). KPO has become one amongst the first companies in Kazakhstan to have reported following the latest G4 Guidelines. The accuracy of the data in the Report has been independently verified by EY.
